Peugeot 208 GTi
The Peugeot 208 is a B-Segment car, launched in 2012, as a replacement for the 207.
The performance version was the Peugeot 208 GTi, fitted with a turbocharged 1598 cc engine producing 200 hp (147 kw) of power and 275 Nm of torque, combined with a 6 speed manual transmission (close-ratio gears). It accelerated from 0-100 km/h in 6,8 seconds and had a top speed of 230 km/h (143 mph).
The GTi version featured improvements on the steering response, the braking system, the chassis dynamics and the rigidity of the suspension compared to the rest of the 208 range. Springs, calibration of the shock absorbers, anti-roll bar, enhanced front subframe and rear crossmember rigidity, plus that the suspension and wheels were GTi-specific.
Visually, the car was fitted with 205/45 tyres and 17 inch diamond Carbon wheels, and it also beared the GTi logo with red hightlighs chrome background. At the front the grille had a 3d chequered motif for the mesh, with chromed inserts and gloss black finish. Visible chrome touches were added on the fog lamp trim surrounds, around the windows and on the door mirror caps. At the back, there was a gloss black skirt, a chromed trim strip on the lower edge of the window, and a trapezoid chromed double tailpipe. Inside, there were Nappa leather sport seats, sporty dials with brushed aluminium background and decorated with a gloss black chequered motif, small diameter steering wheel with embodied GTi logo and aluminium pedals/footrest.
In 2015 the car received a mild facelift which included visual and mechanical upgrades with a small power increase resulting in slightly better performance specs.
