Renault Australia announces pricing for the Megane R.S.

The Renault Megane IV R.S. is arriving in Australia in September, and Renault recently announced the pricing and detailed specifications of the car.

The French hot hatch will start from RRP $44,990 for the manual and RRP $47,490 for the 7-speed EDC gearbox. Prices are for the 205 kw/280 hp version, as the more powerful Trophy is expected to be announced later on.

The car is already available to order, with first vehicles arriving in September for test drives and customer deliveries commencing in November. Options include:

  • Metallic Paint – $600
  • Signature Metallic Paint (Liquid Yellow or Tonic Orange) – $880
  • R.S. Alcantara leather upholstery – $1,190
  • BOSE Sound System – $500
  • R.S. Alcantara leather upholstery – $1,190
  • Panoramic Sunroof – $1,990
  • Cup Pack * –  $1,490

The Cup Pack includes: Cup chassis / Brembo® red brake calipers / 19″ Black interlagos alloys / Torsen® Mechanical LSD / Bi-material brakes

The Megane IV R.S. is fitted with the new 1.8 liter TCE turbocharged engine that produces 205 kw (280 hp) and 390 Nm of torque, allowing 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 5,9 seconds and a top speed of 255 km/h (158 mph).

The Megane R.S. has sold more than 53.000 models globally since its debut in 2003, with Australia being one of the biggest markets for Renault Sport.

The previous generation Megane R.S. was an icon and designing a fitting successor was never going to be an easy task.”

After the latest arrival, the C-Segment category has become very competitive with a lot of interesting and very capable models already available in the Australian market.
