The Audi A1 40 TFSI might have the same underpinnings with the Volkswagen Polo VI GTI but it still has less power than the previous flagship Audi S1. In order to solve that problem, ABT Sportsline offers a tuning package for the new A1 which offers more power and torque as well as lowered suspension and larger wheels.
Thanks to the ABT Engine Control Unit, the four cylinder 2.0 TFSI engine produces 176 kW / 240 hp and 360 Nm of torque sending the power to the front wheels through a double clutch S tronic gearbox. That means it has + 29 kW /40 hp and +40 Nm more than the stock version which would definitely have some effect on the performance figures. As a reminder the stock A1 40 TFSI accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 6,5 sec and has a top speed of 235 km/h.
The ABT springs lower the car by 25 mm to 30 mm and enhance the sporty feel, while they can also be combined with either Audi’s sports suspension or with the factory-fitted electronic damper control system.
Visually, ABT offers 18″ ABT Sport GR wheels available in glossy black or matt black, shod in 215/40 R18 tires. The rest of the bodykit remains stock as it was aggressive enough for a fast premium supermini.
ABT’s A1 might have more power compared to the Audi S1, however it lacks the quattro permanent all wheel drive system (like all versions of the second generation A1).
