BMW M140i Finale Edition
BMW Australia unveiled the swan’s song of the mighty M140i, dubbed as the “Finale”, with additional equipment and some visual tweaks.
The M140i Finale Edition comes fitted with the 18 inch M light alloy wheels finished in Orbit Grey or Jet Black, adaptive LED headlights, tinted tailights, gloss black front grille, special badging and dual tailpipes finished in black chrome.
Inside, the car is equipped with the 8.8″ infotainment system (BMW ConnectedDrive), wireless smartphone charging, harman/kardon premium sound system, Dakota leather upholstery and an electric sunroof.
Mechanically, the Finale Edition is no different from the regular M140i, as it is fitted with the twin-turbo six cylinder 3.0 liter engine producing 250 kw (340 hp) of power and 500 Nm of torque, exclusively mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission which sends power to the rear wheels. It is also equipped with adaptive M suspension and M Sport brakes. As a result, the car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4,6 seconds (+0,2 seconds slower compared to the all wheel drive xDrive version) while top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.
The M140i Finale Edition will be the last RWD hot hatch from BMW as the new generation will be based on a FWD platform. For those who are interested in purchasing the ultimate edition of the German hot hatch, it will be available in Australian showrooms from March 2019, with a price tag of $62,990 before on-road costs.
