Ford announces the technical specs of the Focus ST MK4

A few months ago, Ford Performance presented the all-new fourth generation Focus ST, and today the company announced the specifications of the model.

The Focus ST MK4 when equipped with the four cylinder 2.3 liter EcoBoost engine producing 206kW / 280 PS and 420 Nm of torque, accelerates from 0-100km/h in 5,7 seconds which makes it -0,8 seconds faster than the outgoing Focus ST MK3 facelift. At the same time, in gear acceleration is better than the Focus RS MK3 with 50-100km/h in 4,0 seconds.

As for the diesel variant with the 2.0 liter EcoBlue engine producing 190 PS of power and 400 Nm of torque, it accelerates from 0-100km/h in 7,6 seconds and from 50-100 km/h in 7,3 seconds.

Besides straight line performance, Ford also talks about the improved handling of the new model which is equipped with an electronic limited slip differential (eLSD) on the front axle and and sharper steering wheel with 15% faster ratio.  

Suspension is lowered by 10mm compared to the standard Focus and it is 20% stiffer at the front and 13% stiffer at the rear while it features Continuously Controlled Damping (CCD) technology. Finally the uprated brakes consist of 330mm discs at the front and 302mm at the back which are four times more durable.
