Ford Fiesta ST inside an underground salt mine

Ford released a new short film from the series “Greatest Driving Roads“, which was shot at a rather unusual driving location – Europe’s largest salt mine –  located 400 meters below ground!

World Rally Championship driver Elfyn Evans sat behind the wheel of the Fiesta ST, providing plenty of jumps and slides: “The salt is actually like fine gravel to drive on, quite slippery to be honest, especially on road tyres. You expect it to be claustrophobic but actually it’s quite the opposite, a great place to really enjoy the new Fiesta ST.”

The salt mine consists of a 60 km network of tunnels, where temperatures are a constant 16 C.

The new Fiesta ST is powered by a turbocharged, three-cylinder 1.5 liter engine that produces 147 kw (200 ps) and 290 Nm of torque, allowing a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 6,5 seconds.
