Ford Focus ST Diesel power upgrade kit by Mountune
British tuner Mountune that specializes on Ford Performance models, launched a new power upgrade kit for the Focus ST TDCi.
The kit offers a power output increase of 20 hp / 15 kw (6,5% improvement) and an extra 50 Nm of torque. That means that the tuned 2.0 litre TDCi engine produces 195 hp / 145 kw and 450 Nm of torque.
Thanks to those upgrades, the car accelerates from 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) in 7,0 seconds (0,7 seconds faster than the stock model) while slashing 0,5 seconds from 32-62 mph.
The m460D kit, which is only available for cars with a manual transmission, includes an OBDII flashing cable, dongle, performance calibration and a mountune badge.
Installation can be done at home, but Mountune would encourage customers to have it fitted at the team headquarters in Brentwood, Essex (UK), where the company builds its BTCC and Rallycross engines, and customers can make use of a free Xbox, snacks and drinks while mountune specialists set to work on their car. The cost is £429 for DIY installation or £350 for installation at Mountune HQ, due to the fact that a DIY fit requires an individual dongle and cable.
David Moore, Golbal Brand Manager for Mountune said: “The standard Focus ST diesel is a great base car, but with the m460D kit installed we’ve been able to make it smoother, quicker and generally even more fun to drive.”
As a reminder, the Ford Focus ST TDCi MK3 (facelift) is the diesel variant of the ST range. The car was launched in 2014 and is now approaching the end of its life cycle with a new generation of Focus ST coming soon.
