Mini Cooper S 60 Years Edition

MINI announced another special edition of their iconic model as part of celebrations for the 60th anniversary since the launch of the original MINI by British Motor Corporation in 1959.

The MINI Cooper S 60 Years Edition is built at Oxford, United Kingdom, and features some unique touches resembling the original which was designed by Sir Alex Isigonis. The new British Racing Green IV paint finish is combined with piano black exterior trim, black roof, mirror caps and racing stripes. The very cool looking additional spot lights mounted on the grille bring a retro flavor to the hot hatch while the 17 inch alloy wheels are exclusive to this special edition.

Inside, the car is equipped with the MINI Yours Leather Lounge pack in the exclusive Dark Cacao trim with contrasting green stitching. Additionally, there are several 60 Years emblems across the cabin (steering wheel, front seats etc) and an LED logo projection from the driver’s door.

The rich equipment includes the larger 8.8 inch touch screen display with navigation, Bluetooth connectivity and Apple Carplay support, as well as ambient lighting, intelligent emergency call, rear Park Distance Control and a rear view camera.

There are no mechanical changes on the car over the Cooper S F56. Thus, the turbocharged 2.0 liter engine produces 140 kW/192 bhp of power and 280 Nm of torque and combined with the automatic 8-speed gearbox accelerates the car from 0-100 km/h in 6,7 seconds.

The MINI Cooper S 60 Years Edition will be limited to 500 vehicles for the UK market, priced at £29,990, with deliveries starting in March 2019.
