Audi S3 MK2
The second generation of the Audi S3 (Typ 8P) launched in 2006 in three and five door body styles and received a mid-life facelift in 2008.
The car is equipped with an updated 2.0 TFSI engine producing 195 kW (265 hp) and 350 Nm of torque. The engine featured uprated high-performance pistons, revised boost/fuel mapping, increased turbocharger size (KKK K04) and larger intercooler. The Audi S3 MK2 needed 5,7 seconds for 0 to 100 km/h (5.8 seconds for the Sportback) while the top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155.34 mph). A six-speed manual transmission sent the power from the engine to the standard quattro driveline and 18-inch wheels provide a firm grip with the road. The sport suspension with lightweight aluminum components lowered the car by 25 millimeters (0.98 in). Like its predecessor, although badged a “quattro” model, the S3 does not employ a Torsen centre differential, but instead uses the Swedish Haldex Traction system in its on-demand four-wheel drive transmission, due to the transverse engine layout.
The Audi S3 MK2 is distinguished from the base models thanks to its sporty bumpers, the chrome trim on the single-frame grille, the aluminium-look mirrors, the platinum grey diffuser, the roof spoiler and the double oval chrome tailpipes. The interior conveys an atmosphere of sportiness, with high quality materials and sporty elements like the sports seats, the black or silver headlining, and the instrument cluster with S dials and needles.
