Citroen AX GTi

Description

The Citroën AX is a city car which was launched by the French manufacturer at the 1986 Paris Motor Show. The AX was designed for lightness, with a ‘less is more’ philosophy, but with more conventional styling than previous Citroen models. In 1991, the car received a facelift and in 1998 it was replaced by the similarly engineered but more evolved Citroen Saxo.

The Citroen AX GTi was launched in 1992, one year after the facelift, as the most powerful model of the range. The car was equiped with a 1360cc engine producing 100hp (74 kw) but the low weight of around 800kg, the reworked suspension and the compact dimensions, gave it a sporty driving feel.
