Description
Citroën BX GTi 16 Soupapes was launched in 1987 as the most capable performance derivative of the BX, and received a facelift in 1990.
The car was fitted with a naturally aspirated 1.9 liter engine (XU9J4) producing 158 bhp (118 kW) and 177 Nm of torque (shared with the Peugoet 405 Mi16). The BX GTi 16V completed the 0-100km/h sprint in 7.6 seconds, and could reach a top speed of 218km/h (135 mph). It also featured anti-lock brakes, a thicker anti-roll bar and sportier suspension for improved handling.
On the exterior, the model was distinguished by the redesigned bodykit that included sporty bumpers, side skirts, larger wheels, tinted tailights and rear spoiler.
