CUPRA Leon 2.0 TSI
Description
CUPRA, which is a separate brand for the performance vehicles of SEAT, launched their new range of hot hatches based on the Leon in 2020. Available in both hatchback and Sportstourer bodystyles with four different powertrain options, the CUPRA Leon 2.0 TSI and the CUPRA Leon eHybrid serve as the direct successors to the SEAT Leon Cupra 300, while the flagship CUPRA Leon Sportstourer 2.0 TSI (AWD) is a successor to the SEAT Leon Cupra R.
The CUPRA Leon is fitted with a turbocharged direct-injection, four-cylinder 2.0 TSI engine producing 180 kW / 245 hp and 370 Nm of torque, combined with a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic. CUPRA also offers a more powerful version of the same engine with 221 kW/ 300 hp and 400Nm of torque which also gets an electronic limited-slip differential at the front axle (VAQ) for greater control and precision. The car also comes with a lowered suspension with a more aggressive setup (McPherson front axle and a multi-link rear suspension), larger Brembo brakes (370 mm discs at the front) and the Adaptive Chassis Control (DCC) system offering four different driver profiles (Comfort, Sport, CUPRA and Individual).
Visually, the CUPRA Leon can be distinguished thanks to the redesigned front bumper with larger air-intakes and a new grill surrounded by the full-LED headlights, side sill extensions, a range of 18″ or 19″ wheels (6 different designs), roof spoiler, full-width LED taillights and sporty rear bumper with dynamic lines, a large diffuser and two exhaust pipes finished in copper (four round tailpipes for the Sportstourer). Inside there is a 10,25″ digital instrument cluster, a 10″ touch screen for the infotainment, CUPRA three-spoke steering wheel with gear shift paddles, bucket seats, aluminum pedals, LED ambient lighting and copper details.
