Fiat Uno II Turbo ie

Description

The Fiat Uno is a B-Segment car that was launched in 1983, designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro’s ItalDesign. In 1984, Uno was voted Car of the Year by a narrow margin over the Peugeot 205 and the Volkswagen Golf II.

In 1985, the hot hatch version Uno Turbo was launched, with an IHI turbocharged Strada derived 1.3 liter 146-series engine, initially offering 105 hp (77 kw). The car accelerated from 0-100km/h in 8,3 seconds and had a top speed of 200km/h (124mph)

In September 1989 the Uno was given a mild facelift, which saw revisions to the bodywork that improved the drag coefficient to 0.30 and also included interior updates. The Uno Turbo i.e. variant was restyled too, and upgraded with an Garret T2 turbine, Bosh LH Jetronic fuel ingection producing 118 hp (87 kw). The power increase and the more aerodynamic body, provided a faster 0-100km/h acceleration time of 7,7 seconds.

Uno was replaced by Fiat Punto in 1994.
