Ford Escort MK4 RS Turbo

Categories: ,

Description

fourth generation of the Ford Escort launched in March 1986, with various improvements over the MK3. Codenamed within Ford as “Erika–86”, it was instantly recognisable as an updated version of the previous model, with a smooth style nose and the “straked” rear lamp clusters smoothed over, internally the car had a revised dashboard and other smaller changes. Optional new features included a mechanical anti‐lock braking system, a fuel computer on fuel-injected models, and a heated windscreen.

The Escort MK4 RS Turbo was the fastest version of the fourth generation. The turbocharged 1596 cm3 engine produced 132 hp (97 kw) and 181 Nm of torque. The car accelerated from 0-100km/h in 8,2 seconds (0,5 sec faster than the MK3 RS Turbo) and had a top speed of 205km/h.
