Ford Fiesta MK8 ST
In the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, Ford Performance revealed the Ford Fiesta MK8 ST in three door and five door bodystyles, powered by an all-new three-cylinder, 1.5-litre EcoBoost engine.
The all aluminium turbocharged three-cylinder 1.5 liter engine produces 200 hp (147 kw) and 290 Nm of torque, accelerating the car from 0-100 km/h in 6.5 seconds and allowing a top speed of 232 km/h (144 mph). The EcoBoost engine technology includes turbocharging, high-pressure fuel injection and Twin-independent Variable Cam Timing. A new combination of port fuel injection and direct fuel injection technology helps deliver high power and responsiveness alongside reduced CO2 emissions, while cylinder deactivation technology further improves fuel efficiency without affecting performance. The car features Selectable Drive Modes – enabling engine, steering and stability controls to be configured to Normal, Sport and Track settings, optional Launch Control, optional mechanical limited-slip differential (LSD) and Electronic Sound Enhancement (ESE) technology utilizing the active exhaust noise control valve. Developed by Ford engineers, Ford-patented non-interchangeable, directionally-wound, force vectoring springs improve the stability, agility and responsiveness of the twist-beam rear suspension while at the front we find independent MacPherson struts with Tenneco twin-tube RC1 dampers.
Visually, the car is distinguished by the sporty bodykit that includes redesigned bumpers, a unique mesh grille, extended side sills, exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels, roof spoiler and twin exhaust tailpipes. Inside, the car features standard Recaro seats, flat-bottomed steering wheel, ST gearknob and Ford’s SYNC 3 infotainment system supported by an 8-inch touch screen.
