Description

The Holden Barina RS / Chevrolet Sonic RS is the performance version of the five-door B-Segment vehicle produced by GM.

The car was launched in 2012 and was fitted with a turbocharged Ecotec 1.4 liter engine producing 138 hp (103 kw) and 200 Nm of torque, matched with a six speed manual transmission. The car also came with a lowered and stiffened suspension with performance-tuned dampers ( MacPherson strut front suspension with coil springs and stabilizer bar, and a semi-independent, torsion beam axle-mount compound link-type rear suspension). The new RS is the only Sonic model offered with four-wheel disc brakes, which are partnered with a four-channel anti-lock braking system.

On the exterior, the RS version featured a redesigned grille, unique 17 inch five spoke wheels, sport exhaust with chrome outlet, different mirror cap finish, new rocker moldings and a rear spoiler. Inside the car had sport seats, flat bottom steering wheel, aluminium pedals and specific instrument panel cluster graphics.
