Lancia Y10 Turbo / Autobianchi Y10 Turbo

Description

The Lancia Y10 / Autobianchi Y10 was a B-Segment car launched in 1985, considered to be the predecessor of modern premium B-Segment cars thanks to its style and luxurious trim.

The fastest version of the car was the Lancia Y10 Turbo. It was fitted with a turbocharged 1050 cc engine producing 85 ps (63) and 123 Nm of torque, mated to a 5 speed gearbox. The engine had various improvements over the base version, including sodium filled exhaust valves, electric fuel pump and Digiplex electronic ignition. It boasted a supercharging system from Formula 1 in miniature with intercooler, bypass valve, and thermostatic valve. The car accelerated from 0-100 km/h in 9,5 seconds and could reach a top speed of 180 km/h. The suspension consisted of McPherson struts at the front and rigid “omega” axle at the rear.

Visually, the car was distinguished by the deeper bumpers with red details, Turbo lettering and chrome tailpipe. Inside it featured sporty seats, a different steering wheel and sporty instrument cluster.
