Opel Adam S
The Opel Adam S was unveiled in 2014 as the performance derivative of the premium A-segment model.
The car was fitted with a turbocharged 1.4 liter turbo ECOTEC engine producing 150 hp (110 kw) and 220 Nm of torque. The engine delivered 50 percent more horsepower and 70 percent more torque than its naturally aspirated 1.4-liter stable-mate and was combined with a short geared 6-speed manual gearbox. Adam S could accelerate from 0-100km/h in 8.5 seconds and could reach a top speed of 210km/h.
With sporty driving characteristics in mind, the engineers tuned the performance chassis and the steering. The rear axle has been redesigned and a specific spring/damper set-up further enhances the dynamic handling, while the Electronic Stability Program (ESP Plus) can be deactivated. The updated braking system comes from the previous generation Corsa OPC, featuring 308 mm ventilated discs in the front and 264 mm discs in the rear.
The Adam S expresses is extra sportiness with a front lip spoiler, a rear spoiler and an extended rear bumper cut-out with a visible exhaust tailpipe. Adam S is equipped with 17-inch wheels and 215/45 R 17 tires, or specific 18-inch wheels with propeller-design rims fitted with 225/35 R 18 tires. Inside, the car featured Recaro performance seats in Morrocana/Cloth combination or Nappa Leather, black and red steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake in leather, racing decor on the instrument panel and aluminium capped sports pedals.
