Peugeot 106 GTi / S16

Description

The Peugeot 106 is a city car produced by French automaker Peugeot between 1991 and 2003. In 1996, the car received a facelift (Phase 2) and in 1997, Peugeot launched a top of the range performance version – the Peugeot 106 GTi

The GTi was fitted with a 1.6 liter 16v engine producing 120 hp (88 kw) of power and 145 Nm of torque, combined with a 5 speed manual transmission. The car had MacPherson struts linked by an anti-roll bar at the front and trailing arms, a torsion bar and another anti-roll bar at the back. Th 106 GTi was heavier than the stripped out Rallye, but still weighted as low as 925 kg. It accelerated from 0-100 km/h in 7,4 seconds and could reach a maximum speed of 205 km/h (127 mph).

Visually, the 106 GTi was distinguished by redesigned front and rear bumpers, side skirts 14 inch alloy wheels and arch extensions. Inside the car featured leather and alcantara seats and white faced instrument dials.
