Peugeot 106 Rallye Phase II
Description
The Peugeot 106 is a city car produced by French automaker Peugeot between 1991 and 2003.
The now legendary and iconic stripped out version – the 106 Rallye (Phase 1) – launched in 1993. The car was fitted with a 1.3 liter 8-valve TU2J2 petrol engine producing 98 hp (74 kw) while it only weighted 816 kg. The combination of a five speed manual gearbox and sporty suspension made it really fun to drive. The model accelerated from 0-100 km/h in 10,3 seconds and could reach a top speed of 190 km/h (118 mph). Visually, the car featured white steel wheels, Rallye decals with three colors, and special seat coverings.
In 1996, the car received a facelift (Phase 2) that was fitted with a 1587 cm3 engine producing 103 hp (76 kw). The facelifted model accelerated from 0-100 km/h in 9,6 seconds and could reach a top speed of 195 km/h (121 mph). Visually the car featured new headlights/tailights, redesigned bumpers, new decals and a more modern bonnet and tailgate.
