Description

The third generation of the Renault Megane was as C-Segment car launched in 2008 and received a facelift in 2014.

Renault Megane III RS 275 Trophy

The RS 275 Trophy launched in 2014 was a lighter, more powerful and more track focused limited editon of the Megane III RS. The 2.0 liter 16v twin-scroll turbo F4Rt engine was upgraded to produce 275 hp (202 kw) of power and 360 Nm of torque, combined with a 6 speed manual gearbox. The car accelerated from 0-100 km/h in 6,0 seconds and could reach a top speed of 254 km/h (158 mph). Like the Cup variant, the Trophy came with a stiffer chassis, track focused suspension, a limited slip differential and an even lighter gross weight. The car featured an Akrapovič titanium exhaust system, adjustable Öhlins Road & Track dampers with steel springs, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres and optional 19 inch Speedline Turini wheels.

Visually the limited edition RS 275 Trophy was distinguished by the Trophy branding on the platine grey F1-type front blade, the Trophy decals, the numbered door sill guards. Inside, the Megane RS 275 Trophy came with leather and Alcantara Recaro bucket seats with red stitching, Alcantara steering wheel trim and hand brake bellow, as well as a Zamac gear lever knob.

Renault Megane III RS 275 Trophy R

The RS 275 Trophy R launched in 2014 to reclaim the fastest lap time for a front wheel drive production car at the Nürburgring (record time: 7’54″36). The car weighted 1,280 kg which was 100 kg lighter than the previous RS 275 Trophy thanks to the removal of insulating and absorbing materials (-18kg), the lack of rear seats (-20kg), no air conditioning and no radio (-10kg). It featured new equipment developed in cooperation with prestigious partners: Akrapovic exhaust system, Öhlins Road&Track adjustable dampers, Allevard composite springs and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres. The car accelerated from 0-100 km/h in 5,8 seconds and could reach a top speed of 254 km/h (158 mph)

Visually it came with different colours and decals (side checkered flag graphics), black or red 19 inch Speedline Turini wheels and no rear wiper (for weight reduction). Inside it had the more track friendly Recaro Pole Position bucket seats (single piece polycarbonate seats that weighted 22 kg less) painted glossy black and upholstered in leather and alcantara, with Sabelt six-point safety harnesses.
