Description

The Volkswagen Lupo was an A-Segment car launched in 1998 and facelifted in 2001.

The performance version VW Lupo GTI launched in 2002, and was fitted with a naturally aspirated 1598 cm3 engine producing 125 hp (92 kw) of power and 152 Nm of torque, mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox. Thanks to the extra power combined with a low weight of 975 kg, the car accelerated from 0-100 km/h in 8,5 seconds and could reach a top speed of 205 km/h (127 mph). It featured stiffened suspension larger wheels with wider tyres (205/45 VR15) and a new exhaust system.

Visually, the GTI was distinguished by its unique bodykit that included redesigned body coloured bumpers, bi xenon headlights, side skirts, 15 inch alloy wheels, a small roof spoiler and centrally located twin exhaust pipes.
