Description

The fifth generation of the Volkswagen Polo (Typ 6R) was a B-Segment car launched at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, based on the Volkswagen Group A05 (PQ25) platform (like the Seat Ibiza and the Audi A1).

The VW Polo V R WRC Street was a limited edition hot hatchback launched in 2013, inspired by the Polo R WRC rally car. It was fitted with a Golf GTI sourced, turbocharged four cylinder 2.0 liter TSI engine (EA113) producing 220 hp (162 kw) of power and 350 Nm of torque, combined with a 6 speed manual gearbox. The most powerful Polo ever produced accelerated from 0-100 km/h in 6,4 seconds and could reach a top speed of 243 km/h (151 mph). The car was heavily based on the Polo V GTI, but it featured a modified MacPherson strut front and torsion beam rear suspension while it was fitted with 215/35 R18 Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tyres.

Visually the car was distinguished by the unique bumper design with large air intakes, front spoiler, 18 inch multi spoke alloy wheels, larger roof spoiler, unique livery with white, blue and grey, black mirror caps, rear diffuser and chrome dual exhaust tailpipes. Inside, the car featured racing bucket seats upholstered in leather, alcantara steering wheel, aluminium pedals and black roof lining.
