VW Scirocco R
The third generation of the Volkswagen Scirocco was a sporty 3-door C-Segment hatchback launched at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show, based on the Volkswagen Group A5 platform. The car received a facelift in 2014.
The fastest version of the model was the Volkswagen Scirocco R fitted with a turbocharged four cylinder 2.0 TSI engine (EA113) producing 265 hp (195 kw) of power and 350 Nm of torque, mated to a 6 speed manual or a 6 speed DSG dual clutch transmission. The car accelerated from 0-100 km/h in 6,5 seconds (6,4 seconds with the DSG) and could reach a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). It was also equipped with the XDS electronic transverse differential lock on the front axle, larger brakes, modified ESP, redesigned exhaust system and specially tuned sport chassis with Dynamic Chassis Control System (DCC) and McPherson front suspension / four-link rear suspension. Visually, the car was distinguished by the redesigned bumpers with larger air intakes, LED daytime running lights, glossy black radiator grille, 18 inch or 19 inch “Talladega” wheels, glossy black mirror caps, double oval chrome exhaust pipes, roof spoiler, glossy black diffuser and tinted tailights. Inside the car featured sports seats, leather flat bottomed steering wheel, aluminium inlets, high gloss black accents, aluminium pedals and sporty instrument cluster.
The VW Sciroco R (facelift) launched in 2014 with minor visual and mechanical updates. The updated 2.0 TSI engine produced 280 hp (206 kw) of power and 350 Nm of torque, The facelifted model accelerated from 0-100 km/h in 5,7 seconds (5,5 seconds with the DSG) and could reach a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). Visually, the facelifted model featured new front and rear bumpers, redesigned bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights and LED indicators, new LED tailights, slightly redesigned bonnet and new 18 inch or 19 inch alloy wheel design.
