Valttery Bottas to race in a Ford Fiesta WRC by M-Sport

M-Sport unveiled the livery of the mighty Ford Fiesta WRC race car which will take part on the Arctic Rally with Mercedes-AMG F1 driver Valtteri Bottas sitting behind the wheel for the first time.

Bottas will drive on the snowy roads of the 2019 Finnish Rally Championship (24/1 to 26/1) next to the experienced co-driver Timo Rautiainen, who was crowned WRC champion in 2000 and 2002 alongside Marcus Gronholm.

The pictured Ford Fiesta WRC was prepared for the Finn driver with a special white and blue livery featuring his F1 number, designed by Oinasneva Design.

“This is a unique opportunity to take a peek into the world of rallying, and I would like to thank everyone who has made it possible. It’s totally new territory for me too, as I have no prior experience of a World Rally Car. Still, being the race car driver that I am, you always go flat out whatever the vehicle you’re driving in.” said Valtteri Bottas before his debut in WRC.

Besides Bottas, there have been several F1 drivers who stepped over to WRC, among Mika Hakkinen, JJ Lehto, Kimi Raikkonen and Heikki Kovalainen.
