Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR tuned by ABT Sportsline
ABT Sportsline presented a tuning package for the Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR, including performance upgrades and a range of ABT alloy wheel designs.
Thanks to the ABT Engine Control (AEC) unit, 2.0 liter TSI engine produces 250 kw (340 hp) and 430 Nm of torque. This means the tuned hot hatch comes with an additional 37 kW (50 hp) and 50 Nm of torque over the stock version. Thanks to the power upgrade, the car accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5,4 seconds (-0,2 sec) while top speed is slightly increased to 265 km/h (+5 km/h)
The German tuner fitted the car with ABT suspension springs, ABT coilover suspension and ABT sports anti-roll bar which improve the roadholding on the racetrack.
Visually, the Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR already had a strong road presence thanks to the unique details on the front and rear bumpers, the side sills and the graphics, so ABT decided not to mess with that. However, the company offers its wide range of alloy wheel designs, including the pictured ABT GR 20″ wheels finished in glossy black with diamond-machined rim.
As a reminder, the TCR special edition which is the pinnacle of the facelifted Golf VII front-wheel drive range, is only available in Europe with a price tag of 38,950 euros (61,831 aud) in Germany.
