Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR tuned by B&B AutomobileTechnik

German tuner B&B AutomobileTechnik launched a series of upgrades for the Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR offering a significant increase in power and torque outputs, surpasing other tuning kits like the one from ABT Sportsline.

More specifically, the tuning packages for the four cylinder 2.0 liter TSI engine are as follows:

  • Stage 1: 250 kW (340 hp) and 450 Nm – €1,498 ($2,435 aud)
  • Stage 2: 265 kW (360 hp) and 470 Nm – €3,950 ($6,420 aud)
  • Stage 3: 294 kW (400 hp) and 520 Nm – €7,950 ($12,922 aud)
  • Stage 4: 331 kW (450 hp) and 580 Nm – €12,950 ($21,048 aud)

The Stage 4 tuning kit includes reprogrammed ECU, larger turbocharger, high-performance intercooler and upgraded 7-speed DSG transmission, allowing the 2.0 TSI to produce an impressive 331 kW (450 hp) of power and 580 Nm of torque. That means it gets an additional 118 kW (160 hp) and 210 Nm compared to the factory-spec Golf GTI TCR.

As a result, the tuned front-wheel-drive hot hatch can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4,5 seconds (-1,1 sec) while top speed can reach 280 km/h (+20 km/h) without the speed limiter.

Visually, the tuned TCR is distinguished by the larger B&B 20″ alloy wheels with 235/30 R20 tires (€3,298 / $5,361 aud).

The company also offers lowered springs (€298 / $484 aud), a new coilover suspension (€1,798 / $2,922 aud), larger brakes (€3,795 / €6,168 aud) and  racing exhaust with sports catalyst (€2,795 / $4,543 aud).
